The foundation, in partnership with Resonate! Yemen Foundation, has implemented the first quarterly workshop for local community and decision-makers in Hadhramaout Valley.

The First Quarterly Workshop of the Local Community and Decision-Makers at the Targeted District Levels, Valley and Desert concluded on Wednesday, 30 June 2021 in Seiyun City, within the activities of the Enhance Local Security Program at the Local Level in Yemen, which is b   eing implemented by the Martyr Bin Habreesh Foundation for Development in Hadhramout Valley in partnership with Resonate! Yemen Foundation in three districts of the valley, which Seiyun, Tarim and Al-Qattan. The program aims to promote dialogue between the local community and local government officials to make important contributions to the improvement of the relationship between the security sector and the community and to create a clear understanding among security officials of the needs of the community, which will enhance community safety.

The workshop was discussed over three days with the assembled mediators and representatives of the community in the targeted directorates in the presence of representatives of the judiciary, directors of all targeted directorates, directors of all offices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Office of the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, the Security and Police Command of the Valley and Desert, and the security managers of the targeted directorates, which were hosted by the Hall of the Social Center for the Development of Women and Children in Seiyun. Axes (drug use and its impact on the individual and society, the absence of the role of civil defense in AlQattan district, encroachment on public and private land, infringement of public and private land, carrying weapons and firing bullets on occasions).

After extensive discussions on all the topics presented by the local mediators in the distrscts targeted at decision makers at the level of the districts, the valley, and the desert, which were enriched with interventions and proposals, many outputs were produced, the most prominent of which was the establishment of many awareness campaigns that raise the level of patriotism in society and call upon them to contribute to the establishment of security and combat erroneous behaviors. He also agreed on the importance of rehabilitating security personnel and security infrastructure, as well as assisting civil society organizations and local authorities in this regard.He also stressed the need to follow up on the implementation of the outputs of the workshop and to raise a set of remedies that were put forward during the workshop for the topics discussed at the national workshop, due to the need for decisions at the level of the government.
