On August 10, 2021, the Martyr Bin Habreesh Foundation for Development held a local forum to discuss the issue of women’s arrests and how to deal with them in security centers in Tarim district, as part of the activities of the second quarter of the Foundation’s program to enhance security at the local level in Yemen, which is implemented by the Foundation in partnership with Resonate! Yemen Foundation, It aims to promote dialog among the community and local government officials to make important contributions to improving the relationship between the security sector and the community, as well as to develop a clear understanding among security officials of the needs of the community that will lead to enhancing community safety. At the beginning of the discussion in the forum, the facilitators of the dialog forum in the district were known to the Bin Habreesh Foundation, Mr. Sadiq Bahwareth, Mrs. Salma Bamazrou’, as well as the program to enhance security at the local level in Yemen. The discussion forums were attended by activists, lawyers, some people with disabilities, social figures, and the neighborhoods and active youth in society.

Participants in the forum then discussed three main topics: the introduction of the case, the damage caused, suggestions, solutions, and results, in addition to presenting stories of reality, and the final recommendations that will be discussed by the facilitators and a number of activists with local authorities, relevant security agencies, and stakeholders to help address the issue.
