the Martyr Bin Habreesh Foundation for Development (BHF) is implementing a training course in Seiyun to build the capacities of young cadres in the field of local governance.

 

On Monday, July 7, 2025, the training course on “Local Governance” kicked off in Seiyun city. The course aims to build the capacities of 16 young men and women from the local authority in Hadhramout Governorate, Valley and Desert, as part of the activities of the “Partnerships 2” project. The project is implemented by BHF, funded by the Youth Without Borders Organization for Development in partnership with the Civil Coalition for Peace and Youth Consensus for Peace and Security.

The course includes 16 young participants from eight directorates (Seiyun, Tarim, Shibam, Al-Qatn, Sah, Hurah and Wadi Al-Ayn, Al-Abr, and Thamoud). The participants will receive knowledge, concepts, experiences, and skills from trainer Dr. Abubakr Haddad Balfaqih in areas such as:

– Decentralization and local administration
– Good governance and governance
– Obstacles and challenges of applying governance
– Youth and participation
– Local decision-making
– Tools for youth influence on local decision-making
– Data and information
– Local leadership skills
– Structures of local authority

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Hadhramout, Assistant for Valley and Desert Directorates, Mr. Abdulhadi Abdulllah Al-Temimi, and the Director of Partnerships 2 Project, Mr. Muhammad Al-Yousfi from Youth Without Borders Organization. Al-Yousfi explained that the project aims to involve youth in decision-making areas and convey their voices to local authorities.
